Story
I realize it is not the best issue to jump on to this series with but I really wanted to give this great title some notice.  This issue Hydra is bearing down on the dual Iron Fists and the stage is set for the big finale next issue with the Steel Serpent.

Writing
Brubaker and Fraction are really doing a great job elevating the status what before this series started I thought was a C level hero to what I think might be coming one of Marvel’s top tier characters.  They have woven such an epic plot mixing the legacy of the Iron Fists yet adding all the character notes with Daniel Rand growth as he finds out more of his place in the world and what the true purpose of being Iron Fist means.

Art
David Aja’s artwork is just phenomenal on this book and he is a talent that will just skyrocket as more people get there hands on this title.  An don’t get me wrong the whole team does a great job the art direction on this book, I love how they utilize two artist on the title to help you distinguish between current time and flash back that has become a main stay in the story telling in this title.  Now on that note I must say this issue on pages 11-13 the artwork seemed very rushed by Travel Foreman and seemed out of place in the comic.

Cover
Aja’s cover was solid but not the best cover he has done on the series to date.

Bottom Line

The work that the creative team has done to make this character an A lister has to been seen to be believed. This has become one of my top of the stack Marvel books every month.
